Downtemp Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
These terms apply to the “Downtemp Service”, which includes the Downtemp application, website, APIs, and all associated servers, systems, and services owned, operated, or controlled by Do While Progress LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information in connection with your use of the Downtemp Service. The Downtemp Service is further defined in the Downtemp Terms of Service.
Your privacy is important to us. It is Do While Progress LLC's policy to respect your privacy and comply with any applicable law and regulation regarding any personal information we may collect about you on the Downtemp Service, and other sites we own and operate.
Personal information is any information about you which can be used to identify you. This includes information about you as a person (such as name, address, and date of birth), your devices, your location, and even information about how you use a website or online service.
In the event our site contains links to third-party sites and services, please be aware that those sites and services have their own privacy policies. After following a link to any third-party content, you should read their posted privacy policy information about how they collect and use personal information. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any of your activities after you leave our site.
This policy is effective as of October 1, 2026
Information We Collect
Information we collect falls into one of two categories: “voluntarily provided” information and “automatically collected” information.
“Voluntarily provided” information refers to any information you knowingly and actively provide us when using or participating in any of our services and promotions.
“Automatically collected” information refers to any information automatically sent by your devices in the course of accessing our products and services.
Log Data
When you use or access the Downtemp Service, our servers may automatically log the standard data provided by your web browser. It may include your device’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on each page, and other details about your visit.
Additionally, if you encounter certain errors while using the site, we may automatically collect data about the error and the circumstances surrounding its occurrence. This data may include technical details about your device, what you were trying to do when the error happened, and other technical information relating to the problem. You may or may not receive notice of such errors, even in the moment they occur, that they have occurred, or what the nature of the error is.
Please be aware that while this information may not be personally identifying by itself, it may be possible to combine it with other data to personally identify individual persons.
Device Data
When you use or access the Downtemp Service or interact with our servers, we may automatically collect data about your device, such as:
- Device type
- Operating system
- Browser type and version
- Device settings, such as your time zone
- Identifiers for delivering notifications to your device, if you enable them
Data we collect can depend on the individual settings of your device and software. We recommend checking the policies of your device manufacturer or software provider to learn what information they make available to us.
Location Data
Approximate location: Our network providers derive an approximate location (such as your country, region, city, and time zone) from your IP address on every request. We use it to adapt the Downtemp Service to where you are, for example to suggest nearby places when you search for a location.
Precise location: When you search for a location, such as when setting where an event takes place, the Downtemp Service may ask your browser or device for your precise location. We only receive it if you grant that permission, and you can withdraw it at any time in your browser or device settings. We use it to provide location-based features, such as ranking location search results by how close they are to you. It is not shown on your profile or to other users, though it may be recorded in our server logs along with the rest of your request.
To provide location search and maps, your browser sends your search text, and your approximate or precise location when available, directly to third-party mapping and location search providers. Those providers also receive your IP address, along with the area of any map you view, and handle that information under their own privacy policies.
Locations you choose to attach to content, such as the place an event is held, are part of that content and are shared as described in “Content and Activity” below.
Personal Information
We may ask for personal information, for example when you create an account, update your profile, or contact us. This may include one or more of the following:
- Name
- Username
- Date of birth
- Pronouns
- Biography
- Profile photo
- Links to your social media profiles
- A location you add to your profile
Content and Activity
We consider “user-generated content” to be materials (text, image and/or video content) voluntarily supplied to us by our users through the Downtemp Service. This includes the events you create or host, the invitations you send and your responses to them, messages and photos you send, and Feelers and comments you post. All user-generated content is associated with the account used to submit it.
Who can see your content depends on where you share it and the settings you choose. For example, an event may be visible publicly, to your followers, or only to the people invited to it, and an event's messages are visible to the people taking part in that event. Content shared publicly may be accessible to third parties not covered under this privacy policy.
Your profile: Your name, username, profile photo, pronouns, and biography are always visible to anyone, including people who are not signed in to Downtemp, and search engines. If your profile is public, the rest of it, such as your profile location, social media links, and the events and people shown on it, is also visible to anyone. If your profile is private, the rest of it is only visible to followers you have approved. Your date of birth and email address are not shown on your profile or to other users.
We also collect information about how you interact with other people on the Downtemp Service, such as who you follow, who follows you, who you block, and which events you have been invited to or attended. We use it to provide the Downtemp Service and to make suggestions, such as people you may know from events you have both been invited to.
Read status: We record when you have read messages and Feelers, so that we can show you what is new. Other people may be able to see some of this, such as that you have read a message in an event you are both part of, or how many people have read a Feeler they posted.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, your browser or device gives us an address for delivering them to you, which we store with your account. Notifications are delivered through the push notification service operated by your browser or device vendor. Their contents are encrypted so that the vendor cannot read them, though the vendor can see that a notification was sent and when. Notifications may include details such as who sent you a message and a preview of it. You can turn notifications off at any time in your browser or device settings.
Calendar Feed
The Downtemp Service can generate a private calendar feed link that lets a calendar application show your Downtemp events. Anyone who has this link can see the events it includes, and if you add it to a calendar application, that application's provider will regularly retrieve your events under its own privacy policy. You can reset the link at any time, which stops the old link from working.
Cookies and Local Storage
The Downtemp Service uses cookies, and storage in your browser, for things it needs in order to work, such as keeping you signed in, completing sign up and password reset, remembering your preferences, and keeping content available on your device when you are offline. Blocking these cookies may prevent the Downtemp Service from working. If we begin using cookies or similar technologies for other purposes, such as analytics or advertising, we will update this policy to describe them.
Legitimate Reasons for Processing Your Personal Information

- for security and fraud prevention, and to ensure that our sites and apps are safe, secure, and used in line with our terms of use
We may combine voluntarily provided and automatically collected personal information with general information or research data we receive from other trusted sources. For example, our marketing and market research activities may uncover data and insights, which we may combine with information about how visitors use our site to improve our site and your experience on it.
Security of Your Personal Information
When we collect and process personal information, and while we retain this information, we will protect it within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.
Although we will do our best to protect the personal information you provide to us, we advise that no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure and no one can guarantee absolute data security.
You are responsible for selecting any password and its overall security strength, ensuring the security of your own information within the bounds of our services. For example, ensuring any passwords associated with accessing your personal information and accounts are secure and confidential.
How Long We Keep Your Personal Information
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need to. This time period may depend on what we are using your information for, in accordance with this privacy policy. For example, if you have provided us with personal information as part of creating an account with us, we may retain this information for the duration your account exists on our system. If your personal information is no longer required for this purpose, we will delete it or make it anonymous by removing all details that identify you.
However, if necessary, we may retain your personal information for our compliance with a legal, accounting, or reporting obligation or for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific, or historical research purposes or statistical purposes.
Children’s Privacy
The Downtemp Service is only for people who are 18 years of age or older. We do not aim any of our products or services at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information about anyone under 18. We do not currently sell your personal information, or share it with third parties for targeted advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy before it does, and give you any choices the law requires, such as the ability to opt out.
International Transfers of Personal Information
The personal information we collect is stored and/or processed in United States, or where we or our partners, affiliates, and third-party providers maintain facilities.
The countries to which we store, process, or transfer your personal information may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you initially provided the information. If we transfer your personal information to third parties in other countries: (i) we will perform those transfers in accordance with the requirements of applicable law; and (ii) we will protect the transferred personal information in accordance with this privacy policy.

You do not have to provide personal information to us, however, if you do not, it may affect your use of the Downtemp Service or the products and/or services offered on or through it.
Information from third parties: If we receive personal information about you from a third party, we will protect it as set out in this privacy policy. We adhere to the standards outlined in this privacy policy, ensuring we collect and process personal information lawfully, fairly, transparently, and with legitimate, legal reasons for doing so.
Sensitive Personal Information
Some state laws treat certain information as sensitive personal information, such as precise geolocation, or information that may reveal your sexual orientation or gender identity, which you may choose to share through your pronouns or content. Not all personal information shared in this way is covered by Section 1798.83 of the California Civil Code.
In accordance with your right to non-discrimination, we may offer you certain financial incentives permitted by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, CCPA) that can result in different prices, rates, or quality levels for the goods or services we provide. Any CCPA-permitted financial incentive we offer will reasonably relate to the value of your personal information, and we will provide written terms that describe clearly the nature of such an offer.
